| If you could post a photo, then we can have a go at identifying these symptoms easier. Personally, if the head is pointing down, it'd lead me to think about a Swimbladder issue.
Someone who's more knowledgable about this breed should be a long shortly. |

| Good morning. Hate to hear your fish isn't feeling up to par. Can you post your readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate? It will really help others to help you more.
Thanks,
Ken |

| Sounds like a swimbladder issue, but it could be something else playing a factor too. Its really tough to bring back a fish from a swimbladder issue. I'd go ahead an QT it if you have the space.
Is the fish bloated at all? Is it otherwise healthy? What does it look like, sick dark and concerning?
I'd look to get some Maracyn-Two and Maracyn and dose that as recommended on the box/bottle. Waterchanges can also help, do large frequent water changes. Keep the tank water clean. |

Sorry for my bad language buddy. | What kind? How long did you have the discus/
If recent purchase, How long did store had this fish?
Do you know if this was shipped recently from farms? Always ask the questions such as how long, food given, etc. as it wont hurt but assist. pH, Ammonia ( NH3), Nitrite ( NO2) levels?
What are its tankmates and size of tank?
If recent purchase, is your tank lot deeper than tank that fish were bought from? |

Mine is 55gallons with some siamese & chinese algae eater, shrimps, corydoras, botia, cardinals and neon for food (is it strange?). not recent actually but it's only 1,5 times deeper. I see u're so experienced buddy. i'm newbie though. thanks for helping!
(for slug) yes, otherwise is healthy, what disease does Maracyn cure for? I didn't find any of Maracyn in my fav. pet store.

If you can't find those particular brands in your store, Maracyn's active ingredient is erythromycin, and Maracyn-Two's active ingredient is minocycline. If you decide to medicate, check for medications available locally that have those chemicals as active ingredients to replicate the effects of Maracyn and/or Maracyn-Two. |

Originally Posted by Bryan Wilie And what disease can be cured with maracyn actually? | Erythromycin, as I said earlier, is used to treat gram-positive bacterial infections... there are a variety of such infections, including some causes of popeye, some types of fin and tail rot, cotton mouth disease, and possibly neon tetra disease. Whether it will help your particular problem or not, I don't know. |

| Looks a little bloated to me (And yes also a Snakeskin). Bloated could indicated something wrong inside. Either with swimbladder, food not passing, normal bloat, or internal parasites. Hard to say.
I suggested Maracyn 2 because its what i've seen people use and be suggested before when treating swim bladders and a wide range of stuff when you can't pin it down. I'm sure you could always try some salt and water changes. |

| Keep in mind, I know nothing about Discus other than they're beautiful fish.
When bettas get bloaty from constipation we feed them bits on thawed shelled frozen pea to help get things moving.
I don't know if that'll help your babies.
Perhaps the members who know more about Discus can comment on this?
Good luck, I hope he/she recovers. |

| I've just quarantined mine recently and I pour 250 mg of Erythromycin for the qt but i found my discus nearly dead just a minute later. So I do a water change again and gave the stress reliever medicine. Is the erythromcyin not too good for small fish? What if I give some internal parasite or finrot medicine to him/her? I'm afraid of him/her death actually. Thanks for the advice guys. |
