Hi guys, its been a while since I've been on.
I've noticed recently that my large male discus has one gill clamped tight, as if he's too uncomfortable to use it. His other moves freely. Any thought on this? Could he have gill fluke or something I'm not aware of? I'm prepared to move him to QT and medicate but I'm not sure yet what to do.

Hi Jess, good to see your back. I know you have a lot more experience than I have, but when mine did that the LFS told me to do 50% water change (I was doing 25-30% daily), and that seem to clear it up quickly.

Hi dvc_r. I changed the water yesterday and that's when I noticed his clamped gill. I always change 50% also I have a bare bottom tank to make cleaning easier. And you're right, when in doubt, change the water. It always makes the fish feel better and also us humans. : ) So I'm keeping an eye on him but am wondering if there's something else I should be doing?
