Discus Compatability

Question seem simple enough.

Is it ok to keep different breeds/mixes of discus in the same tank? Or do I have to buy all of the same kind(Turq Red, Emerald Green, etc)?

Discus are Discus IMO. Just be careful with adding Wild Specimen (must Q/T Wild longer than captive bred color morphs) if you are.

You can keep different kinds of discus but try to get them in the same size range because my relative has 8 discus and they are all different sizes so they kept chasing each other. After a while the fighting subsided...Now they look gorgeous in my tank.

So far I have three Marlboro/pigeon bloods a blue snakeskin and a turq. I had a blue cobalt but the he died after about a week. I don't think he was able to handle the "pecking order" process . The LFS tends to agree with me, it seems that the pigeon bloods tend to be more aggressive.

Pigeon Bloods usually mature much faster then other strains, for whatever reason. The blue strains like Blue Diamonds tend to mature at a much slower rate. That might be why they are more aggressive. But yes all strains can go together.
