Ok so I guess I got no replys for help.
I managed to get the tank clear of all green water algea after 2 weeks.
We used a Phosphate pad to try to bring the Phosphate level down from 5.0 but it wouldnt budge. We performed 25-50% water changes everyday and sometimes 2 times a day but the phosphate would climb right back up. We washed and rinsed out our gravel, Did the biggest no no and changed 100% of the water and cleaned the tank. And to no evale the water started turning green again the next day.
We bought a corner filter run off a airtube that would filter 100
GPH and within 4 hours our tank that we could barely see our fish in was sparkling clear. Now you would think that our 110 gallon filter from aquaclear would keep the tank clear. So it is unclear why its not performing its job but its finally nice to have a clear and clean tank after 2 years and will post pictures of it soon on here.
So if your fighting high phosphate and green water sometimes you need to revert back to basics and try something like the corner filter.
oooh also we only lost 1 neon and one glowlight tetra through all our problems which is completely remarkable.
