this may seem a little silly but...

is there a such discus thats easier to care for than others i.e im looking for my first ones to add to the tank. is it ok to add 2 and are there any that are more hardy than the others....?

I'm also thinking of getting discus... and yeah I also feel intimidated by them. I'd love to see what the guys have to say....
Have you checked out some of the threads on the discus side?... I saw something earlier... hang on... I'll look for it...

Hi,
I dont think there is any Discus that is more hardy than others. You can start with two Discus, but keep in mind that its a pretty good idea to add the amount that you want to the tank all at once to help cut down on any aggression that may be caused by introducing new Discus later.

Or more then the amount if they are young, and weed them down as they age and you see aggression.

And nope, really all the strains/colors are the same.

Discus

I would say for me blue diamond discus are the hardiest I've come by. From what I've read doing some research heckel are not good ones to get as beginners because apparently they are one of the most fragile.
