Is reverse osmosis filter Necessary for a discuss tank?

They are expensive but I don't want my future discus to die? please advise all your discus experts!!!

I think it's like high 7's and I don't know about the hardness.

Only if you have extremely hard water, otherwise you dont need it..as long as all water paremeters are kept stable you should be fine..RO water is mainly used for breeding purposes.

Yeah I realise that..still only needed if you hardness is to high..maybe you should check your hardness first!!

Hi..
Okay I'm going to try and help with this one a bit more if I can..Check out all your water paremeters from the tap..Discus can tolerate alot of water conditions as long as its kept stable and your tank and water is kept clean.If you wanted to use ro water allways mix it with tap water as they do need some minerals in the water..basically even if you were going to breed you would only need to use ro water if your hardness is too high otherwise its not an issue..hope this helps..and do some more research before buying a RO unit
