Whar are good tank mates with marlboro rd discus ?

I've got 4 marlboror red dis (3.5inches) in my 65 hallon aqarium. What good tetras you think are good for my discus.

I have never actually kept discus, but from what I have read here, neon tetras go with discus and there are no problems.

Tell that to my seven Neon Tetras who mysteriously disappeared from my Discus tank (11 Discus including two marlboro reds). At first I thought they were dying behind or under a rock or somewhere where I couldn't find them... but after seven disappeared without a trace, I figure SOMEBODY must be eating them;either the Discus or Dwarf Gouramis. I don't keep anybody smaller than a Cory or Oto in that tank anymore.

That being said, I've heard cardinal tetras are compatible with Discus. I have never seen any cardinals at any of the numerous fish stores around, but maybe they're a little bigger than neons? Might be an option if you can find them. I've also heard form other people that Cardinal Tetras are tough to find.

DFS's compatibility chart says caution should be used in keeping Discus with Dwarf Gouramis, but I've had no problems whatsoever. They get along just swimmingly. Look nice together too.

The cardinal tetras are larger than the neons an I read they prefer the higher temps that the discus tank needs more so then the neons. I have seen discus tanks with cardinals and it seems that its generally accepted to see them with the discus. The neons being smaller, I can see why they would end up being lunch.
I just bought 15 cardinal tetras from a breeder, but IMO they are too small at the moment to introduce into my discus tank and I will leave them in the ten gal til they get larger. Sick lid boy is right, they are hard to find in the LFS, and thats why I had to special order mine. They are probably about a half inch in size or so. I have two angels in with the discus and they are all getting along..

I concur with everything above :-)

I had a few loaches with mine for a period of time a few weeks ago, i thought i'd add them as a bottom feeder to pick up after my piggy little discus... but they seemed to be a little too active (they were babes about 3 inches)... at least for my baby discus maybe they'd do well with adults. Instead i've gone with some corycats and they're doing great. But the thing about corydoras is they need to have a few of each other around to feel safe around big ol' discus. :-)

YAY FOR DISCUS!
