normal damsel behavior?

whenever i put2 (1/2")damsels(yellow tail and a three striped damsel)in they just stuck together and the only thing that moved alot was my new turbo snail^^... so is that normal? are they just getting used to the water and aquarium?

they are stressed out. The thing about fish is they don't have facial expressions. You have to look at how they swim, but sometimes if they are too active, they might be stressed all so.

all ofthe parametrs are good so it must just be the tank switching...... how long will this last until they start swimmin round the tank?

it depends. Tank size, rocks, whether the fish had disease, acclimation, injuries, store water parameters etc.

What's your water parameters?

If they have not been there long they are getting used to the tank. Once they do they will be establish territory, in a small tank that happens really quick. After that they will establish hiarchy, and I betting the 3-stripe is going to win. If they continue for more than a few weeks and nothing is wrong with you water (ammonia, nitrties) than they most likely will not take to the tank and they are going to stress out. If this happens than you could removed them and try with other damsels. Fish are llike poeple they all individuals and no two fish are the same.

Also damsels are not really swimmers like the tangs and wrasses, but they do chase each other around untill there is food in the tank.
