yellow tail damsels remove all the sand from around the bottom of my rock with there tails to leave it bare bottom is this normal behaviour?

Is there any rock nearby that damsels are constantly cleaning and/or guarding?

yes they seem to guard one piece of rock if my clowns even attempt to go over to it then they chase them away big time, but they also remove the sand around other rocks to not just 1 paticular 1 altho they dont guard the other rocks
