i got my 2 blue devils and my blue with yellow tail saturday. i just cycled my tank with live sand and rock. the 2 blue devils run around the whole tank mainly chillin out on the left side to the center, my yellow tail hides! he never comes out. he'll go inbetween crevises, crators, tries to make tunnels in the sand. i noticed one of my blue devils go up to it with his tail near the yellow tails face, and just slapped him! now the yellow tail is on the other side of the tank hangin out with the hermit crabs and snails LOL! but i was curious if anyone has taken their blue devils and put them in a container or plastic bag while u were introducing new tank mates? make them think they're going away? maybe? just curious if anyone has tried tha....

It must been a work to fill 111lbs of LR in 55G unless dense LR! Thats lots of LR for 55G. Any pic of tank/system?
You can have aggressive fish chill out in isoaltion quarter when new are introduced but question is, is it possible with all the rocks. If gonna go thru removing rocks to catch couple of damsel (nightmare,lol), would not bother.
On the other hand, you can acclimate and put new fish in DIY contraption (isolation container) to have new fish settle w/o any harrassment due to aggreassive future tankmates. It has to be big enough with holes, lots of holes for circulation, so fish can move somewhat. LMK if you need ideas.
When ready to release fish, do it at night when all the fish are chlling/sleeping in the rock thus new fish will have better chance to adjust so either can fight back or learn to utilize the rock to hide/run. Be gentle not to spook new fish.
Since reef, doubt you will get any large fish.
BTW, damsel sare USUALLY aggressive towards each other unless love at first sight. LOL! So keeping few will keep themseves busy.

ya i got some pictures of my tank in my albums on here...ya it is alot of rock! i carried it from my car to the house! my buddie broke down his 25gallon and hand 30lbs of rock i bought for 30$, and another guy was selling live rock for $2 a pound so i went there and bough another 80-85lbs worth....i know doesn't equal out to be 111lbs but i put it kindof almost in da center.....LOL i woke up last night and noticed my yellow tail out and swimming around while the other lil guys were sleeping, also noticed that my ricordia(sp)coral frag attached itself to the rock! i'll tell ya what that is some kool stuff dude!
