chromis are pobably the hardiest of the saltwater fish and will accept most prepared aquarium foods

(coming from a strictly freshwater aquarist I have a feeling you're having second thoughts about my reply )

My chromis will eat just about anything. Flake food, brine shrimp, baby brine shrimp and even some smaller parts of mysis shrimp though in general that food is a bit too large for their mouths.

Sorry for taking so long in replying. The chromis that I have was the first fish that I started with. Actually I started with 6 chomis. But due the fact I really didn't know what I was doing and a nice cold snap here in Georgia which cause a temp drop in the tank, I lost all but the one that I still have.

He has lived through everything that has gone wrong in my tank. He really is a survivor. Now what's kind of amusing, is that he gets picked on by both clown fish that I have. The royal gramma and flame angel that I have leave him alone but he'll go head to head with my yellow tang for food. The guy really has no fear!!

I'm considering adding a school of Blue Reef Chromis to my 120G mixed reef. A couple sites have them listed on their expert only shipping policy...any ideas as to why? Everything I read list them as any other Chromis.
Thanks for any help.

Chromis - Personalities of Green vs Blue vs Indigo

I have a 180gal Reef settup and would like to add ~13 Chromis, prefferable to get a bit of a schooling effect. I know several of the Damsel breed can be little terrors and have a mild mannered reef tank. So I'm leary to not add agressive personalites. The green have ideal mild personalities, but I like the looks of the Blue Chromis, and/or Indigo Chromis. Has anyone had either Blue or Indigo and can shed some light on if their more agressive, do they school? Thanks!

I wasn't aware they were either blue or green, I thought they were blue/green. Mine can change colors in the light or shade, or depending on how high up in the tank they are and the angle. Sometimes they look neon blue, others, neon green.

Most stores carry, and by far the most popular are the blue/green Chromis that change colors in the light. Nice personalities. I've read up on the Blue and Indigo (look different than Blue/Green), but haven't seen any at my LFS to see their personalities. I'll ask them to order some, but only if I can verify their similar in personality to Blue/Green Chromis, and not like other Damsel's.
