Anyone ID This Behavior -VIDEO - RASBORA HETEROMORPHA
These sweet little guys are doing this weird thing...they swim side by side, then bump against each other. there is no nipping or anything, they just bump sides.. They actually look like little bumper cars. Is this some strange mating ritual?
It is only these 2, I have no idea what sex they are. The tank is very peaceful, there is no aggression by anyone in here. It looks comical. They have been in this tank for about a month.
I took the video through the end of the tank, trying to cut down on the glare. Hope someone can tell me.....

Hi Val, somehow I overlooked this thread...
how are those rasbora's doing lately? Are they still acting the same way?
IMO it looks like two males and one is trying to dominate the other. There may be a female in the group that is getting mature and one of the rasbora's is trying to become the dominate male in the group. It appears to me after viewing the video that it is only one of the rasbora's that is doing the pushing around. I may be totally wrong on this lol... but its my guess.
hey Miss Kate ..have wasted the whole afternoon....
Anyway, the rasboras ( Snap, Crackle & Pop) ( no idea who is who) are doing great . They are the coolest little fish, the only thing that would be better is to have a bunch more!!
Actually that whole "little fish" tank is really great to watch....so much activity for little guys, and the otos are even fun!!
I just found this thread. I bought 6 harliquins over the weekend and they are the cutest little fish, as soon as they are out of QT I am getting 6 more to fill the school out. Were you playing any music ?? I think they were dancing... Do the hustle ..dum. dum.. dum.. dum da dum dum...lol. Or maybe they were practicing for the olympics...syncronized swimming ? Whatever it was it was cute and I hope my new fish have as much personality as those ones look to have. How are they doing by the way?
Hi! they are fine, and have moved, with their tankmates to a larger tank. I haven't been able to find any more here, so still just have the 3, along with the white skirt tetras. I believe it would be fun to have a whole bunch of them....so if you get more, please keep posting!!
Ha ha...there probably was music - dancing - the lights were low...so romantic
