I'm surprised that no one here keeps these wonderful fish?? Is it that they are to common? or no one has tried them? I've got 4 ina 29 gal and they quite interesting to me to look at, very peaceful fish IMO...love the tail movement on 'em

He was purchased "labeled" as a common, but i think you are right.I've been tryin to get a decent id on this guy since I got him. when he comes out to feed his fins are huge.I dont think he is a gibby he does'nt have the "bump" before his dorsal but possible sailfin could be right.his markings say hes just a common from what I've researched but who knows I do call him my uncommon common..btw I have counted about 14 rays in his dorsal give or take 1 ray..

We had a school of them once but I really didn't like them...they were huge too & boring. A 29 g may not house them for life.

allie how big did your fish get mine are about 1 1/2 to 2 inches at the moment and from what i've read thats about right maybe 2 1/2 inches at the most yours sound like a few monsters..lol..i do have a few bloodfin tetras in with them that keep 'em hopping around a bit but other than that I kinda like them just their movement in the tail strikes me as interesting..but to each their own....
