I have a 14 gallon biocube which has been set up since July 2009. I have a male betta, 2 platys, 2 albino corys, and a bristlenose pleco. Occasionally, the corys will swim rapidly back and forth across the tank for long periods of time. They have been doing this since yesterday. The other fish are ignoring them, and the water conditions (using a test strip) are within normal limits. Is this increased activity normal, and what could be causing them to do this.

test strips are not very reliable. your better off useing the master test kit it can be a bit expensive but its well worth it as u get over 800 tests and its way more acurate

If your having weather changes and storms like most of the US right now they maybe reacting to that. They also do this before spawning.

Yes we are having weather changes. Thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye on them. And I will get a more reliable water testing system.
