| Cories, cories, cories, and more cories!!! I must have the happiest peppered cories in the world. I started out with 3 from PetCo of all places because they were just soooo cute. Well ever since they have reached adulthood I guess you would say they have shown me just how happy they are. This is the fourth or fifth time they have laid eggs. There is apparently one male and two females. I have seen the females carry and lay eggs. This is only the second time that one of the female has laid eggs and she laid yesterday. Well I slipped away from my computer for just a minute to get a drink and of course had to check in on everybody. Well Big Momma cory is now taking her turn in laying eggs. This is the same way it happened 3-4 weeks ago...little momma went first and then the next day big momma. Oh and little momma has gotten the hang of it now she can stick those eggs just about anywhere. Her first time around she was dropping eggs everywhere and really having a hard time of it but she has it down pat now. So now I have four tanks with peppered cories in them and my incubater is up and running once again with the eggs I stole yesterday...and will be stealing more later on today. |

We want pics of the babies! | LOL I can't get pics of the itty bitty ones my camera is just not that good or maybe it is my camera skills. BB has some of the oldest babies maybe she can get some good shots of them. I bet yours will lay again you just have to steal the eggs when they are done laying so they don't get eaten. My "incubator" is a clear plastic cup with a bubbler going full force in it to keep the eggs rolling. I completely change that water everyday. As they start hatching I just slow the air flow down and then when they have all hatched they get moved to a 1 gallon tank to make keeping water clean an easier job, and the 1 gallon tank I only have about half full if that much with just two bubblers and a heater. I have a turkey baster and a kiddie medicine dropper that I use to suck the excess food and fish poo outta the tank and I use water from an established tank to refill and not just fresh since when I did the fresh water I murdered a bunch of babies. I am not an expert with cories that is for sure but this is what has worked for me....I have no clue how but it worked. Anybody that saw the setup would get a real laugh out of it...I still do and I came up with the whole mess and the funniest part is that it works.
Oh my. There are loads of eggs in there and she is still laying right now. She still looks pretty heavy too. It's gonna take me forever to steal all of these eggs. Looks like some of my babies need to go to the auction!!! Last edited by SWilkins; September 11th, 2009 at 05:54 PM.

| LOL. I actually took two bags with six cories in each bag and they did go like hotcakes! I was really shocked...somebody even put a priority sticker on one bag of them.
The eggs from the first day of laying are wigglers today and I am moving them over to the gallon tank with their older brothers and sisters. There are still a bunch in there that have eyes but have not started wiggling yet...hee hee...I still love fish babies!!! |

| My cons just about got laughed outta there but some of them had to go. I guess some people just don't appreciate the fact that raising them is fun too! |

| I did not do anything it was a total surprise when they first did it. I just had three cories in there and walked by one day and saw eggs. They have been laying ever since then about once every three weeks to a month. |

| There are cories and guppies in the tank and of course some snails. I'm just an egg thief and when they start acting like they are going to lay eggs I keep my eyes peeled. Well since I figured out what they were doing I keep my eyes peeled anyway. |

You are next on the list for cories and I have loads of snails. I don't know how well a 1/4 inch cory would travel...any ideas? Quote:
