Baby peppered cories

Well apparently I have at least one female and one male peppered cory. They have been steadily laying eggs for two weeks or more. And yes of course I was collecting them. I put them in a net breeder with a bubbler and guess what. I have babies. They are just too cute. I would say about two dozen but they are too fast to count so maybe more or maybe less. I tried taking pictures but my camera will not focus on the little bitty things. Oh they love the golden pearls too.

I looked back in my little book and they apparently hatched on the 16th so they are about 10 days old now. I'll keep trying with the camera but earlier today it just would not focus on them. They are just waaay too cute. They look just like their parents but they are very, very tiny.

wow! mine never spawn. The only time they ever spawned was when i added a copper based medicine to treat an ICH outbreak. i cant seem to figure out what causes them to spawn.

Well I was not trying to get them to spawn they just did but after they did of course I had to read some more. It seems if you do a water change with cooler water it makes them think it is the rainy season and then you get eggs, eggs, eggs. My water change could have been cooler or they just like their surroudings who knows. Somewhere I read they also need a high protein diet before spawning to get them ready. I use Kens catfish pellets and they love them.

Oh yes Carol they are so cute.

You are on the top of the list dear. They are just soooo cute. I so wish I could get a pic of them but they and the camera are just not cooperating. I only have three adults myself so I was not expecting them to spawn but you know how we are when we find eggs...gotta save um if the parents don't take care of them....well I do anyway LOL. I knew if I did not have room for them somebody on here would.

Oh I had a friend send me some albino cories that were smaller than 1/2 inch toooo cute. I still have the little buggers and Tommy has decided that they are crazy because they are all over the place all the time and very fast.

If they make it I will send them to you small so you can watch them grow up...that was really fun. Oh and you have to steal the eggs or they will eat them. And the mom strows them all over the place...I was up to my armpits stealing eggs. I was scared I was going to hurt them but they are really tough...scooped them up with my fingernail and put them in the breeder net with a bubbler. They are not like our cichlids that protect and raise their babies.

I had read that they were egg eaters, but then again so are my Angels sooo who knows about the cichlids..lol..I would be scared of hurting the little eggs too they look so fragile. That's awesome you hatched them out, cories aren't the easiest things in the world to breed and yours just did it..lol..You must have extraordinary breeding skills (fish breeding that is) lol..or something in your water.

Oh those eggs were not fragile at all..I was really shocked. Nah it is not me it is in the water. All my angels love to eat their eggs....must be some good caviar ewwww not that I could eat caviar, sorry mental pic there.

Tony...I wish I could do a video but I am still on dialup. As it is it takes me forever to upload a picture.
