How much to feed?

Hi. i have 6 sterbai corys in my cycled 33 Gal (US) tank. I supplement their diet with hikari algae waefers. I usually take one waefer (about the size of a 5cents or 20p coin) and break it up into little pieces, then drop it in the tank. i do this at about 9pm. does anyone know if i am feeding them enough/too much?

Thanks

I'd suggest varying their diet more. They are omnivorous and would appreciate some meaty foods like bloodworms, shrimp pellets, etc.

That is enough for one feeding and once a day is fine.
As harpua2002 said they love bloodworms and shrimp pellets also. Personally I would feed them one thing one night then something else the next night for variety.

i do feed them different freeze dried food once a week aswell, which they love.
Ill buy some shrimp pellets and alternate between those and algae waefers like you suggested.
Can you reccomend any good brands for shrimp pellets?

Thanks for all your help

Omega One is the best that I've found.

Omega One is good, I agree. If you want to really see them go nuts, try frozen bloodworms instead of freeze dried.

The frozen food has to be thawed in tank water before being fed. Ihave a special little bowl I put the cube in with a bit of tank water. when it's thawed i pour the food into a small shrimp net and pour the tank water over it to rinse it a bit then blot with a paper towel.
Feed just a little bit at a time to make sure they eat it all. You may find it beneficial to turn your filter flow down a little when feeding also.

Not if you cut off a chunk of the bloodworm cube and thaw it out in a cup of tank water.
