Good morning. As a rule of thumb I don't mix tropicals with cold water fish. If it were my tank I would remove the Shubunkin to it's own home.

he has no where to go. also aren't cory's cold water as well? just curious. and goldfish can withstand tempratures as high as 40C (104F) and as low as 0C (32F) so i think they can live in 78F. i'm not being rude, i'm just saying.

I'm sorry, but a high temp for 104F for a goldfish is wrong information.

I've seen people keep goldies with tropicals but the temps are in the high range for goldies and may effect their lifespan.

Try moving some decorations around, see if that helps throw the cory off a bit.

thanks, i'll try that. i hate to argue but my goldie has lasted ages. he has survived many brutal summers. the last summer here in AUS it got as high as 60C (140F) and less than half of my fish survived and he was one of them. even my angels and bettas didn't survive. i know higher temps speed up their life, but thanks any way.

but do you know what the chasing might mean?

thanx
