My cory is sick

I have a 26-gallon tank. In my tank i have guppies, neons, and 1 cory. For 3 days he did not move and was on the same plant. I moved him to my isoltaion tank incase he died. Do you have any advice to help him get better??

hes probably lonely ...cories like to be with their own..3 or more... ...also, they dont do well in new tanks so really keep an eye on those water parimeters ...they are super sensitive to ammonia...by now he has probably adjusted to he high ph after a year unless thats a fast change from what it normally is? ..I hope he does better!!...goodluck!

The PH in the other tank was 6.5

that could do it if he wasnt acclimated very slowly over an hour or so...a drastic change in ph is not good and although most fish will acclimate to all kinds, it cant be fast....how long did you take to put him in the new tank?

is the new tank cycled? if not, then i'd put him back in the other. acclimate him slowly like shawnie said, then cycle the new tank fishless.

if not, then i'd stay on top of your water changes and get some Prime or Stress Coat+ or Amquel+. prime being my personal favorite.

Corys tend to be still during the day and active at night. They also like to have other corys in a tank with them.

it was probably the shock from a drastic ph change.... other than partial water changes to try to adjust the ph, lots of prayers for your baby!

so how was your other tank 6.5? how often did you do water changes and how much? did you have driftwood in there? at this point, he probably is adjusted to the higher ph after 4 days....and just hope he makes it and doesnt succumb to the drastic change..I hope he does ok soon!!...but again, keep an eye on ammonia and nitrites and begin water changes with some prime as soon as you see it ..

Right now he is in a breeding tank. I think the PH in the other tank got to 6.5 because I used aquarium salt when doing water changes

ahhh ...well that could be his issues too...cories dont care for salt so between living in the salt with low ph, and the drastic change to the new tank with a much higher ph, hes probably a lil confused and not handling it well .. do you know the ph in the breeding tank? and why were you using salt out of curiosity?

The breeding tank is in the new tank. It is just this thing that floats a the top. I use aquarium salt because the lady at PetSmart said it would be good for the tank

you are doing all you can at this point...keeping him away from others, and in the breeder to keep an eye on him...lets hope he pulls thru!!! stress coat works much better than salt and the fish dont have a reaction to it..so if you can find some , use that with your water changes and do not use salt.....are any other fish having an issue to the ph change? also, see if you can raise your temp to 78 slowly..that might help him feel a bit better..75 is a bit chilly for tropicals...as your tank goes thru the cycle process, im sure your ph will change...
