Do these eggs look viable? Is it worth moving them to a new tank?

I read somewhere that cory eggs will be solid white if they are fertilized. Do these look like they are fertilized?

I just found the eggs this afternoon and they weren't there this morning. I moved the guppies out out the tank but there are still the 3 cories and a bunch of cherry and crystal shrimp in there (not to mention a bunch of rams horn and pond snails). I doubt I'd be able to get the cories out without destroying (or removing) the plants but I could go get another tank to put the eggs in...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I read the opposite

I read if they were brown and somewhat transluscent, they are viable. My solid white eggs never hatched, even when separated and given a good flow rate to prevent fungal growth.

Well... I sure hope that you're right and not me!!! I'd love to have some little cories in my tank!

Anyone know if the shrimp or snails in the tank will eat the eggs or be dangerous to the fry once they hatch?

The cories will eat the eggs if they find them...don't think they will bother the fry once they are hatched but I think the shrimp may...not sure. I have seen my albino cories follow a laying female around and suck the eggs off the glass after she has placed them....good luck.

Yes those are viable eggs. When egg layer eggs are white they are either unfertilized or fungused. good luck with a magnifying glass you can sometimes see tiny eyes in there

The cories have not eaten any of the eggs (in fact I found more the next morning). I'm pretty excited! I'd love to have cory babies!

I don't think I can afford another tank to move the eggs to so I'm going to have to hope for the best... Can anyone recommend the best way to make sure the fry get enough food in a planted tank? Should I just make sure some sinking pellets fall in the densely planted areas of the tank?

It looks like the embryo's are already forming. See the dark spot in the center? I agree with Butterfly.

Okay I am dying to know...did they hatch? I have four babies that were sent to me by a friend and they are the cutest things. I have never seen a cory this small.

I'd love to know... The eggs have disappeared and the cories keep laying new ones but I haven't seen any fry. I have a ton of plants in the tank so I'm hoping that they're just hiding. I'm trying to find a good deal on a new tank to move future batches of eggs to. I'll post pictures if I ever find babies in the tank.

Keep looking and keep us posted. Mine were sent to me at about 4 weeks old give or take a day or two. They might be 1/2 inch now. Toooo cute!!

I spotted two tiny cories this morning when I was feeding the adults! They were gone before I could get the camera but I will try to get pictures!

A good idea I have found with cory eggs is to place a small net lightly over the batch of eggs until they have hatched to keep the parents from eating them.
