Cory's and N. Birchardi's??

Hello all..
So my darn puffers nipped at one of my cories tails so out they come!!!!! I will not let them little buggers hurt my sweet cories...So can I put them in with the birchardi's...If not it's ok..I can put them in the 20gallon long untill I get the L-144's and figure something else out when they get here...I have a ton of tanks but I thought if they can go in there with them that would be ok...They have not paired off so there is no aggression yet anyway

THanks!!!..I've not seen a whole lot on compatibility of N. Birchadi's other then it's best if they are a species only tank while breeding...Mine are not..lol..So If you can find something that would be awesome..I just did a nice big waterchange for them so if the cories can go that would be awesome.

yeah, everything i've found so far says they should be either species only or only with other tanganyikans, so it may not be worth the risk

Defitely not. While I personally believe that pH is a nonissue, softwater fish like cories wont do well with hardwater fish like Brichardi. Plus, the Brichardi might also be territorial to cories, since they can occupy similar parts of the tank, and they are after all cichlids.

Thanks for the reply. The cories are in the same PH as my Birchardi's anyway so that wouldn't be an issue. But I sure don't want to put them into another tank they would be getting picked on. I put them in the 20gallon long yesterday. I'm hoping to maybe get a community tank going where they will be fine in.
