Confused on the right temps for cories

Hello , I am really confused on the temperatures for the corydoras . I have seen some of the members cracking their temps up to 80+ and talking about how that is the norm or the right range? well I visted the catfish planet or site whatever its called and none of the fish reach 81+ on the temps.

When people are talking about raising temps continually to high 80+ temps it is usially as a treatment for ICH and includes a caveat to make sure air is pumped into the tank as the water will hold less oxygen at higher temps

It also depends on which Corydoras it is and where it's collection site is. Some can tolerate a wider range of temps and some a very small range. check these out and you will see what I mean. http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog...hp?family_id=1

Im not sure I know what the question is, other than that you disagree with some of the members on what temp they keep their corydoras at?
Most Corys prefer a tank temp below 80*, that includes most of the popular easy to find Corys. They range in temps of 70-79,72-79, and even 64-79* for the peppered or Bronze Corys. Im sure there are other varities of Corys that tolerate higher temps but the ones Ive mentioned are the usual Sterbi, Panda, peppered, Bandit, Skunk, Bronze, and dwarf.

I keep my tank on around 80 all the time. I have neons and glowlight tetras, harlequin rasboras, otos, and albino cories in there...oh and also a female betta. All of my fish seem to like the high temp . I have cories laying eggs every month or so . ( all the eggs get eaten) All are healthy fish.

I figured it was the same site, it is an excellent place to find information.
I have regular and albino Aeneus, peppered corys and some orange laser corys. they are all really active and playful. the bigger the group you have the more active they will be.

most cories act basically the same and all get to about the same length except for the bronchis (3.5+ inches) and the pygmy (only about 1-1.5 inches), and they'll pretty much all school together depending on how many you have. my personal favorites are the panda cories, but then tend to be a little more fragile than the other varieties for some reason.

Thanks guys! would 4 be okay, or is that not enough? I got a 55 gallon that I plan on putting other things in such as cherry shrimp, anyone know if they will fight?

for a 55 i'd go ahead and get five or six, although four would be enough for them to feel pretty secure. lol, i've never seen a cory fight with anything! if anything, my ghost shrimp will steal their food!
