Hiding Cories?

Recently my cories are jus hiding in their humble abode and hardly coming out. If they do, they don't want me to see them. What wrong?the only changes made in the tank are new lights cuz i didn't have for a while and two new shrimp.

Hmmm.....hiding is a sign that they don't possibly feel good. Have you looked them over real good? When was the last time you tested the water?

Just curious that in your aquarium info that the temp is 86. Correct? Or is that just old info?

I agree with alyeskagirl..what are the ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate readings? cories do stay stationary but not for long..they are nosey lil buggers always moving and looking for food..

the temp kinda dropped to 84. I always test my water last time it was ammonia 0ppm, nitrite 0ppm and nitrate 20 PPM. These results are always constant every time i test.

dropped to 84? what was it before the drop? tropicals like it around 80 although some keep them lower..warmer water has less oxygen so that might be whats going on

In the aquarium info, said 86! I was like whoa, so I asked to make sure.

yep, lower it to 78-80F

also, your cories may be adjusting to the new light, my cories are most active right after i turn the lights off and right before i turn them back on in the AM, they're more nocturnal than anything else

most corydoras prefer temp at 78 or lower, but 78 is perfect.

wow no heater and its that hot? holy smokes!!

you can freeze some water bottles and float them but chillers work also...but can be very expensive...
