Hi, i rescued a little cory cat this afternoon. It was in what i guess to be a 40g tank with something the kids had caught from the river (i'm guessing a perch of some sort)?!

The little guy has no fins at all no barbels and red gills. The other fish seems fine.

I have him and the perch thing in a 35g quarantine tank, it was set up today so has no ammonia,nitrite, nitrate etc.. I added a filter from an established tank along with various decorations for hiding in and for the bacteria on them.

I added stress coat, vita-chem and guarlic guard to the water. Other than this is there anything else i should be treating him with? My brain seems to remember reading something about the being sensitive to some medications, is this true or am i thinking of something else?

I will try and post a picture of this little guy when he come out of hiding (and of the other guy incase someone from missouri can tell me what it is, and what to do with it - i can't put it back into the river)

Hopefully if he pulls through he will join 5 other corys in the 125g (but not the perch).

Hi Anna!,
I see the cory has no fins. I just recently figured out that my cories are sensitive to salt so i gotta stop using that unfortunately. I dont think there is anything else but i would ask your local pet store or even do another forum. I hope he pulls through

Aw, poor thing. I think you're doing a great job caring for him. Keeping his water really clean and using those additives is the best thing I can think of to do. I hope he makes it.
