| She did it again... My cory who had a seizure thing, I think she did it again. She's lying on her side in the back of the tank. Her gills are super red, as well as her lips. She looks so sick. I'm scared to move her to the quarantine tank, I think it might be to much for her to handle. She's breathing, so she's completely alive, but she's panting in and out like a dog. Its so scary, I need help. I didn't see how she got in this position this time, I just came to check on them and there she was. I'm guessing she had another seizure thing. Sorry to start a new thread but I was afraid if I added onto the other one it might get ignored I'm kind of in a state of panic right now HELP!!!!
Heres some pics, they don't really show the redness, but try to imagine. Last edited by MeGustaUnaPez926; November 30th, 2008 at 12:22 AM.

| I have no idea how to help you. I am sorry she is sick. Try to stay calm and strong for her.
Have you tested your water? I know you are worried but it may be something that your test kit could indicate. It is a good place to start.... and will give you something to do until someone responds to you.
(someone other than me, who can actually help you) |

| Have you checked your water parameters? Is there any major fluctuation in pH,temp, etc.? |

| How are your other fish reacting?
You said a seizure. Is she known to have vet diagnosed seizures or is that just a description of her behavior and appearance?
I would go ahead and move her to the hospital tank unless the rest of your fin babies are acting similar to her. If they are you may fare better to treat the whole tank for whatever this issue is. If this is isolated to just her I would go ahead and move her. |

| The water parameters are perfect so is the pH we think she might need oxygen i tried to set up an air stone but i didn't have all the pieces. She sort of twitches at the bottom the rockets upwards trying to get to the surface. she swims all twitchy and spinn-ish. If you want more info as to what happened last time check my other thread in cories Cory Seizure? She's alive, but barely, she's very erratic. At this point I'm hoping she just goes quickly.
EDIT: She's not breathing... Last edited by MeGustaUnaPez926; November 30th, 2008 at 12:39 AM.

| In that thread Butterfly made a good suggestion to quarantine her to keep the other fin babies from bothering her. That would promote either a peaceful recovery environment or a peaceful place for her last moments. I noticed it is a 5 gallon hospital tank. That would be easier to aerate for her, since you mentioned using an air stone up above.
How is she doing now?
I'm sorry she is not breathing. Do you think she has passed? Last edited by Emory; November 30th, 2008 at 12:41 AM.

| I cant really tell. She's in a part of the tank i can't see to well. Its right under the filter. There's no gill movement, but she's sort of swaying back and forth, but it think its just the water. I don't have an air stone, the thing the people at my LFS sold me was just a timer for one. I thought they came together, and I'm just realizing this now. |

| okay I'm moving her. Should i acclimate her to the water in the quarantine tank or just dump her. I'm pretty sure she's already to far gone... |

| It's to late my dad dumped her in already. I just couldn't handle picking her up and stuff and I forgot to tell him. |

| Well, one thing for sure, don't listen to your lfs. If you do anything with their knowledge, research it before you implement it.
Keep us posted on her. She may be alive, breathing shallow.
I would still pull her out and place her in your hospital tank.
Stress Coat should be added and nothing else since you don't know what is going on. Heck, maybe she is in a fish coma and just needs a trip to the hospital tank.
If this is wrong then at least you are keeping the rest of your tank safe and free from breakdown byproduct. (sorry) You can keep an eye on her there until you can determine if she is alive or not. |

| If there no visible signs of gill movement, then the cory is already gone.......Sorry to hear that.
How are the other fish acting? paying attention to them, may give you an idea about what's going on.If it's a single fish being affected,it may be the fish, but if there are signs from the other fish,it may point to a problem in the aquarium. |

| One more thing though, my lfs is very good. I knew they were selling me a timer. The timer turns on the airstone if the power goes off, I bought it for that reason. I assumed it came with the stone, so that was my fault, not theirs. They've given me nothing but good advice. |

| Yeah, I think I lost her. I've still got a little sliver of hope though, because last time this happened she didn't breathe for over ten minutes, and she recovered. Sort of. My other fish are totally normal. I think it was just her... I'm going to go to bed now. Thank you, I'll look back in tomorrow. |

| Yeah, I'm up. She didn't make it. She hadn't moved from where she was in the quarantine tank this morning, so my dad fished her out and we are going to bury her. My mom had a look at her to see if she could find any sort of parasite or worms in her, but there weren't any. She's under an inch long, so we couldn't really tell when she was in the tank. Oh well... I guess she just wasn't meant for this world. |
