Cory Seizure?

Help my three line cory just had a seizure like thing. she was swimming normally and all of a sudden turned upside and darted super fast across the tank than sank to the bottom and stopped moving. Than she had another one. We picked her up in the net because she looked totally dead, but her tail moved a little and her gills went in and out so we put her back on the gravel. She was still upside down but she seemed to be breathing. Than she rolled over, so she's right-side up right now. She hasn't moved since but she's breathing super fast. Nothing like this has ever happened before. She's always been really healthy. What happened? BTW the power went out today so I had to reboot up the filter, but would that actually have an affect? None of the other fish have anything wrong. Should i put her in my quarantine tank? I dont want to stress her out anymore. Also her 'lips' are really pink, does that mean anything? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

When you have a problem in a tank the first line of defense is a water change. Have you tested your water for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates? How long was the power off? sorry for the questions

Its okay. The power was off for less than a minute. My mom accidentally flipped the wrong switch in our circuit box. My ammonia, nitrate, and nitrites are at 0, and my pH is between 6.4 and 6.8. I changed about 2 gallons today when the power went off and I did my weekly 20-30% water change on Sunday. I'm probably just being paranoid, because I inspect my fish everyday and have never noticed this, but her mouth is a little bit grayer than what I think is usual. Velvet? I quarantine all my fish for two weeks minimum and have never had ICH or any other disease. But she's moving her fins a little and swam forward about an inch. Now she's acting like she normally does when she just sleeps. I tried to get a picture of her but the only camera I have is my phone, which is awful. Any thoughts as to what happened? I've been desperately google-ing everything I can think of but got no results. Is their some cory epidemic I don't know about? Like the dwarf gouramis? Thanks!

That length of time off won't have hurt anything but may have startled your fish and caused it to thrash around a bit. Maybe thats all it was.
If your tank is cycled you should be seeing some Nitrates. It's good that your ammonia and nitrites are at 0 but as an end product there should be some Nitrates.

Sorry, that was a typo. I was testing the water at the same time as I was posting and the reading changed after I posted that. The nitrates are at about 5. The tank is over five months old, so it is cycled. The thing is, wouldn't she react right as the filter turned off? That happened a couple hours ago. Hmmmm...

AHHH... I see, since you posted about the power outage and that at the same time my brain put them happening at the same time.
I would definitaly quarantine her/him if for no other reason than to make sure nobody bothers her/him and she can eat and rest in peace. Then keep an eye on her/him.
The water parameters sound ok
Keep us posted.

It is so weird. She's swimming around totally normally now. We think that something must have scared her, and she swam away and rammed into a wall and somehow stunned herself. What I don't understand is what she was doing upside down, because she was completely flipped over. I'm going to my LFS first thing tomorrow to see if they can shed some light on the subject of how pink her mouth is, because it looks like someone gave her a bad make-over. There is no one in the tank to bother her, just three other cories and two honey gouramis. I'm reluctant to quarantine her as my quarantine tank is much smaller and there would be a lot less room for her if she had another seizure thing. She would definitely hit a wall, because its a 5 gallon hexagon. I'm just scared if I come after her with a net it'll stress her out even more... Unless people here think thats a really bad decision.

Well she made it through the night. I'm not to worried about her, because she's acting totally normally now. I'm going to to my lfs today (I hope its open) to see if they can help me. They almost always give great advice. At this point I'm not quarantining her, but if I get some negative responses to this I will.
