Hey, some how I got this idea into my head that I NEED corys in my tank to clean the bottom. My questin is how good are they at doing this, I see my corys pick around the gravel but I never see them eat any uneaten flakes. I guess I'm just trying to get over the fact that I NEED corys in my tanks. Dont get me wrong, they are cool fish but... I cant shake the feeling.

You don't need corys for a successful tank, but they do eat leftover food, mostly at night when you aren't watching the tank. They do a great job of cleaning a tank of extra food, so they are a great addition, and if they are in a big school, they are really really cute and just amazing to watch. It is really up to you if you want corys for your tank.
