Can anyone ID this Cory?

Can anyone ID this guy? The sign at the store says "Spotted Cory", but everything I've looked at says this is not a Spotted...

Never mind. Looks like it's a Peppered Cory. I looked for like 2 hours last night and couldn't find it, and of course, 5min after I post the question, I find the answer...

That kind of looks like Cthulhu, my old peppered cory. However, it looks a lot younger than Cthulhu was (or maybe smaller... pygmy?), so it's hard to tell.

I wish my pet store sold those They only sell albino's, false julii's, bronze aeneus, bronze cory (which if I remember right, and the site was right, they aren't true corys) and pandas. I was going to get some pandas instead of the aeneus but they sell the pandas for 6.98 each and the aeneus were 2.98 each. I don't remember pandas ever running more than other cory's.

I talked with the fish manager today. He told me that the labels are often incorrect because the place they get the fish from does not have many English speaking employees...He said sometimes he'll order Albino or Spotted Cories, and he'll get a bunch of Panda Cories in (price diff is $2.49 for Albino or Spotted vs. $6.99 for Panda) and he'll just sell them at the cheaper price, since he paid less for them. Now I have to start checking there once a week, lol, see if I can get me a school of Pandas for cheap.

FWIW, these guys are very active and don't stay in the lower level of the tank, I've seen them venture and schooling around the middle of the tank as well. They're just what I needed to make my 10gallon betta tank a complete tank and not just a waste of space (yes, I put the Cories in first). I may have to get more now that I know what they are and how small they'll stay.

I also paid about $7.00 for my Panda Cories. I really wanted False Julli's, but none of the stores in my area had any.

The reason your cories are all over the tank is probably because they are kind of stressed, and scared. Mine used to do that, but they stopped after a couple days. They're really active at feeding time though!
