switching tanks

I just redid my female betta's 10g - got rid of all the fake decor and its just two small pieces of driftwood and a good deal of live plants. Now I'd like to see if she will tolerate some cory buddies. I know its a hit or miss and it depends on the betta's personality and I'm really not the kind of person who likes the idea of taking fish back to the store. Instead of picking up some new cories I was wondering if I might beable to transfer my bandit and panda cory (if things don't work out they can easily go right back into their orginal tank).

Just a few problems I see. For one, it doesn't seem fair to upgrade them from a 20g to a 75g then downgrade to a 10g. Second, it doesn't seem fair to seperate them from my peppered cories - all five of them are usually swimming around together after all. I'm pretty sure the tank is cory friendly (other than the chance Faye wont like them but again, back to the main tank they go) - probably much more so than the 75g. Are these valid concerns or am I just taking things a little too serious?

believe me, I am just like you.

I am having an algae problem in my 5 gal betta tank and I was thinking on transfering some otos, but it didnt sound fair to me either.

I believe it is entirely up to you, and I also think that your concerns are way valid... as I am facing some similar of my own

I'm the same way. But it really is up to you. You could just buy 2-3 cories & then if it doesn't work out with Faye then you could just add them to your 75 gal.

Heh, I had the same problem with otos. They are just delicate little things - I can see them dying on me just to let me know they arn't happy with the move, spiteful little devils >.<

Once my angels and killifish are fully grown I'll be a bit overstocked. I think I may have to move over my guppies once the fry in the 10g are large enough to be introduced into the main tank - they've been getting a bit piggy at feeding time since bring home the angels. Would ruin the plans of getting a single dwarf gourami for the 10g but on the off chance Faye doesn't want any tenants there would be enough room to slip a few more cories in.

Thanks you two ^_^

I went ahead and picked up three cories. Two bronze and a lone julii - I think. The julii was alone in a tank with goldies and the bronze in with assorted cichlids so I just wanted to take 'em home so they'd have each other to play with since all the other cory tanks has groups of 5+

Right now I have the tank light off and letting them get use to things, took Faye out for about ten minutes right before I let the cories go. So far she hasn't seemed to notice them and probably wont until tomorrow - she's already curled up in her frilly plant sleeping ^^;
