Hi - I'm thinking about getting some cories, but I want to make sure I have good conditions first.

do cories definitely need a substrate? I have a tank with sand and a tank with no substrate. Would they do equally well in both?

Corys like to scavange, which includes stir up gravel or sand to find little yummy leftovers. However, they eat those little sinking pellets quite easily, so as long as they get some food if they cant scavange they should be good.

Pea Gravel Or Sand works best I think, I currently have 4 on sand atm and they're doing fine.

And I will be trying some on dorset pea gravel, and will tell you how they do on there
