cory has an itch to scratch?

My albino cories seem like they were mating today. I am pretty sure they were mating. It was the first time the acting semi-aggresively towards each other in the 6 months that I have had them. No eggs yet but who knows. Afterwards the male kept scratching his head on the gravel. Is this normal after mating? Is he just bored? Or is he sick?

No their not mating their "flashing" which means they are itching Check your Nitrates. when was the last water change? It wouldn't hurt to do a water change any time you think theres a problem.

Cool, doing another won't hurt anything It's always a good first step. What are your water test readings(ammonia, nitrites, Nitrates) ?

since I took the video he hasnt dont it since. Weirdest thing. I did another water change and everything is zero except for nitrates which is impossible to be zero. Maybe he was in a bad mood

Don't think it was a bad mood That is a sign something is either wrong or going wrong. Thats why an immediate water change is such a great idea. Glad everything is all good now Good job.

I agree with Butterfly, he is flashing. He may be bothered with parasites. Wouldn't hurt to turn up the temp to 82+ and leave it there for 2 weeks, doing 25% water change every 2 days, in case it is ick and you just can't see it on the one that if flashing. It can also be in the gills where you can't see it.

If he continues, then do a overall parasitic medication. Good Luck
