Cory Compatability

I plan yo add about 6 Corys to my tank. Are they happier all one species or do they do well mixed like 2 of 3 different species?

Thanks

My "partner in crime" has 2 bronze corycats and one panda corycat (she's planning on getting more soon though). The Panda cory follows the bronze corycats around the tank in a "three musketeer" kind of way (Pardon my incorrect spelling...i think). But from what I've experienced, many corycat species school with each other: Bronze cories, Panda Cories, Peppered Cories will all most likely school together. They do best in a single species school, but will mix with other species.

I have Cory's in both my tanks...they get along with pretty much anybody...as long as the anybody isn't big enough to eat them...they defend themselves pretty well against fish that get cocky...allthough most fish just leave them alone...cause they are nutzzz ! LOL

Generally, if they are the same size they should school together but some don't. I think its preferred to get the same species but not a 'have to'.

Hi!

They are happier in the same species. With me, it's a must. Other people keep them in mixed groups, however.
