Do corys need a tank that has been through the nitrogen cycle?

All fish need a tank that has been fully cycled.
Really hardy fish, like danios, can survive, but their lives will likely be shortened by the stress.
Cories probably wouldn't survive going through the cycle, though, if that's what you're asking.

Corys are more sensitive to water conditions than a lot of fish and often the first sign of water chemistry problems in a community tank is sick/dead corys. Definitely cycle a tank before adding corys.
