New Cory Owner

I left home to buy an oto to put into a tank prior to adding a femal betta. Well, I ended up with a tiny bronze cory. I only got one, since the tank is a cycled Eclipse 3, ( has silk plants and caves to hide in ).

So , will one do okay, I keep seeing where they like to be in pairs, but I think the tank may be too small, and that it would be too intimidating to my little girl betta when she comes. Even tho I am a fanatic about cleaning, siphoning, etc.

Also, advice on feeding, please - I did get some algae/vegetable little disc/wafer kind of things.

oh ya, and are they always so hyper?? His name is Sammy, man does he go, when he goes, othewise he sits and just renews himself and then goes again. Geez, he is making me nervouse!!!

( oh ya, love the farting fish part too? - I knew Dave had to have a post in there somewhere..LOL) Thanks, everyone!

Re: New Cory Owner

Yes, corys can be the clowns of the tank. I have two spotted corys in my 10g, and they're either constantly on the move, or just sitting and watching the world go by. One in particular loves to swim up and down by the front glass, and must make 10 passes before he settles for a bit; the other likes to take rides in the bubble stream coming from an air stone near the side of the tank.

It's kinda funny now to see the one cory that likes swimming up and down in front to have to suddenly change course to avoid one of the new otos that's suddenly hanging on the glass in front of him. If both get there, it's like he's running an obstacle course.
