I just bought some new corys but when they got in the tank they wont eat.

did you feed them as soon as they went in? if so try again in a day or so there scavangers so theyll eat all the leftovers.

Also usually stressed fish lose their appetites sometimes. And travel from the fish store to your tank is pretty stressful. Give them a day or two to get adjusted and settle down. Also what are you trying to feed them? They won't go after anything unless it's sitting on the bottom of the tank, so flakes and floating foods will never reach them (unless then sink over time). Also cory cats are somewhat nocturnal. I say somewhat because they will be active during the day, but they are usually much more active at night. Maybe before bed try dropping a sinking pellet or wafer down to them and seeing if they are more prone to eating then.

I think corys prefer softer food, so maybe you have to wait for the shrimp pellets to soak a bit. Or, try something like the Hikari Sinking Wafers (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...&N=2004+113280) -- my two corys absolutely devour one once it softens up, and they defend it against any marauding zebra danios that may come by for a taste. I've even caught one of the corys nudging the wafer into a rock cave to keep it safe.

I would definitely agree with giving them a little time. I've been lucky with most of my fish, and they've eaten the same day as their transfer, but never immediately after it. And just FYI, my peppered corys go after frozen brine shrimp while its floating around the tank; but then again, who can resist frozen brine shrimp?

You won't catch me swimming around looking for frozen brine shrimp! I prefer mine on a plate!

Cories tend to be a bit shy when first introduced, they need to be in a group of 3-5 or more to feel safe enough to come out from hiding, and if you don't have enough cover for them it might effect their willingness to come out to eat. Young corys also tend to be a little more easily stressed, which might lead to not eating.
