Personally, disease of coral did not worry me as far as LPS, Softies are concerned. I seen existing coral extend more when NEW WILD SPECIMEN were added, maybe due to natural micro fauna/phyta that came w/ wild corals?? Like I said, dipping done if saw tissue damage/deterioration.
On the other hand, when SPS were being shipped, many, including I, were experiencing Rapid Tissue Necrosis (RTN). This was due to long transit form Bali, etc. Sometimes flight get delayed, etc.
Rather than loose the whole piece, hobbyist try to save whatever portion of SPS that we can save, thus idea of fragging began(12-15 yrs ago) among hobbyists, at least IMO. With RTN, tried more than just dipping with meds yielding mixed results.
Q/Ting Wild SPS was critical in order to prevent spreading of RTN to existing SPS.
I dont think you have to worry too much. Maybe your supplier did not hold the piece after fragging for tissues to recover. For those pieces w/ white edges, dipping is good idea. I dont think you have Q/T frags, but it id up to you. Def Q/T wild SPS. unless supplier have q/t them locally (no jet legs; stress)
Enjoy
PS: ive posted on your wanted posting about "Labeotropheus trewavasae
"Mpanga Red", fish which was not avail to me when my hands were wet.
