Super green mushroom looks like it's turning inside out

One of my super greens literally looks like it's turning inside out or trying to eat itself. Does anyone know what it's doing or trying to do? Thanks

It's not happy. Flow, light, levels, something is off. Test your water and post the results here. Also, how deep is your tank, where is the shroom placed, what kind of lighting, etc.

it's open now.. i checked the water earlier and everything was great. however, i did wipe off the inside of the glass so hopefully it was just stirring up the water flow upset it.

It's possible whatever you wiped off got in the water column and landed on the mushroom disturbing it. Glad it opened back up.

I have a ricordea that was full open when I bought it. Got it home, acclimated it, and it's all shriveled up, but it's sitting directly next to 2 ricordeas that are wide open and look great. I'm stumped. And I'm a little worried since I ordered another $80 worth of ricordea, I don't want them to do the same thing...

Thanks for your help. I really like ricordea, but i haven't bought any yet. In my old tank I had red mushrooms and one of them shriveled up and stayed that way for a month or so. Then one day it just opened up.

the SG is 1.023. i think what au01st said was correct. maybe some sand landed on it or interupting the water flow upset it. It's happy as can be now. Just added a brain today. it looks like a rose brain but it's not as tall as a rose brain. i also added a purple goby firefish today. that little guy is really cool.

Nice! It took me 2 months to find a Purple Firefish. I want to get an open brain but the LFS' cheapest one is $130...little much for me right now.

Anyways, glad to hear everything worked out. I may try to bump the S.G. up to 1.024 or 1.025, but do so with a refractometer, not a hydrometer.

the purple firefish was $30 and the brain was $40. It seems like everything is cheaper in California and Florida as it's easier to get here. All the LFS' drive an hour or so to los angeles where the ORA farm is. So they really dont bump up the price of stuff that much

Where you you coral shopping ? ORA farm in L.A. ? That's news to me. Most ORA corals I see here in LA/Orange county are all @ $65.

LFS's in Corona and Riverside. Both shops said there is an ORA farm in L.A. they go to. I only thought there was one in Florida...

I'm sure there are coral wholesalers in L.A. This is were they arrive via air freight. All ORA corals have black frag plugs. That's how you tell them apart.
