Frogspawn vs Damselfish

I have a 24g nano reef tank. I recently added a small clump of frogspawn without knowing that it has some potential to sting. I never saw any of the stinging tendrils, but that doesn't mean anything... Two weeks later, my three-stripe damselfish is gone. The yellow-tip is fine, everything else is fine but i cannot find even a piece of the fish's body. Could the frogspawn have killed the fish?

I really don't think the frogspawn killed it. I would try and take a better look in your tank. You will likely find it stuffed under a rock in there. Do you have any invertibrates in the tank? If so your damsel could have died and simply been eaten by these as part of a natural process. This can happen fairly quickly

Crabs are good eating every little bit of a dead fish. When I did keep emerald crabs, I once saw one of them eating a chromis that had died. He didn't kill the fish but sure enjoyed the meal. And he ate every little bit of him.

I had a similar dissapearance of a Devil-Damsel,
but that aside,
the frogspawn shouldn't give you any trouble. I've got a pipefish, a wrasse, and a few other critters, and I've never had a problem.

i used to have a frogspawn in my old tank. i had not reaserched it before i got it. my clown fish bothered it. one day my whole tank was covered in GREEN . All my corals were dead and all my fish were at the top gasping for air they also died later. i later found out that a frog spawn when becomeing stressed out it releses poisons killing everything including its self. return that thing ASAP i lost about $1000 full of stuff.
