| Any Dither fish? Well, i am still debating with myself if i can pull off the african tank with the convict. I dont want vulcan to be all by herself, so i assume she could be kept with more fish...
Tank is 35 gallons, TONS of hiding spots (will add more if i do an african tank)
Anything i could use? Something that could be in her tank all it's life would be the best...
Thank you |

| oops forgots about bruce LOL (my daughter does that bruce, helllllllllo bruce impression very well !) you probably wont get away with 3 then ..maybe 2 ..they are crazy fun fish tho...IMO im not sure id mix a bunch of africans in that size tank..id go with one type with vulcana LOL...or you could maybe skip the pictus, get 1m/2f of each lab and red zebs ...you might have to upgrade to a canister filter (assuming you dont have one) but its doable ...can bruce handle the higher pH's? ive not read up on them |

| Yeah he's done great in my pH. Its 8.6... really high and straight out of the tap too.
So my filter isnt enough? Its got 366 GPH...
One question on the zebras... isnt there like a few color variations of them? Like ive seen blue yellow and orange |

| ive only got reds...scuba's or bb might know more! africans are slobs lol ..so ive had the most success with canisters....but 366gph would be ok with maybe 2 water changes a week if you go with 6 africans , vulcana, and bruce |

sounds good then... Vulcana is still young, and the new kids would also be her old tank mates
There is this one kind of african though, i cant remember the name....
it looks like this: http://www.aquaticsvcs.com/images/bully.jpg
my LFS has some juvies of them....
Anyway, i hope to be able to get them then, up the WC's to 2 times a week wont be trouble |

| see im clueless with these beasts LOL !!!
i use either big green leaf lettuce or red leafed lettuce...more of the thicker kind of leaves...nothing else as far as veggies other than my homeaid foods...they tear apart things so bad that a piece of zucchini or something in that nature, wouldnt be big enough without them killing each other...but i put a bunch of other veggies in the homeaid foods... |

pretty much i make it with any veggies ive bought for the week...minus brocolli or corn (broc makes a huge mess and sugar isnt good for them IMO) mix it in a blender with my spirulina flakes, one hard boiled egg, one a day vitamin, kens premium veggie flakes, and 1/4 cup of water....you can either then add same amount of plain gelatin and freeze it in a small ice cube tray , or take the mixture (plug your nose) and pour it into the middle of an egg batter... like the filling in an omelet and cook it like an omelet..then cut into small cubes and freeze it... |
