Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to aquariums, I like to think.
But I sure was surprised when I looked into my 55 gal. community tank & saw about 50 free swimming convict fry!! I knew they had laid eggs, but I thought that they had ate them. Apparently not! This is their very first spawn, and they already raised them to free swimming! These are black convict parents, so all black fry.
On the other hand, the breeing pair in my 20 gal. has around 100 fry. They had double that, but lost half to the filter intake.
Those babies are jelly/black mix. If anyone is looking to stock Cons in the next few weeks, let me know!! I have enough to go around. I will also do trades for other fry.

I may keep three Pinks, and sell the black pair. Pinks are less common around me, I may be able to get store credit for them. Maybe? Idk.
Well, I'm just enjoying the growth process of the babies right now.

I will get some pics of the Pink/black fry. They are totally free swimming. The fry in my 55 gal. are hidden in a sand pit.
But the cons in the 55 aren't very good parents. They both go to the top to eat, leaving the fry at the bottom by themselves. And you cana see stray fry around the entire tank. So we will see how many actually make it. I counted 22.
