| Wigglers! Well it seems they got it right this time
It would seem that I def. have a male & female con in my 20 gal., since I have about a million (okay, maybe not - but it sure seems like it!) wigglers inside the terra cotta pot. These fry will be Black Con x Jellybean Con mixes.
I hope at least SOME make it to selling age, I can't wait to see what they look like!! |

| I hope a few make it! I know that if I have many, most will be used as fish food at my LFS but I want to witness at least one spawn grow up. |

| Well, they're still a wiggling on the bottom of the pot. Both parents are caring for them, so that's a good sign. |

| be prepared, as they will move them a few times, and you will think they are gone, until one day you see a cloud of them swimming |

| thats the only fry tank I dont have a sponge on..and mine all did fine...but its a standard filter for a 20 gal that came with the kit ...if yours isnt just the standard one, id put some nylon over it.. |

| My standard filter died the other night, so I actually have a filter rated for a 10 gal. on there now. I have to find another filter in my rubbermaid of wonders up in my attic. |

| Well, they're still on the bottom of the terra cotta pot.
I also had another surprise this morning when I went downstairs, 2 of the juvie cons in my 55 gal. have spawned & laid about 50 eggs on the back of a piece of granite. So, I'm a little nervous about the fate of my other fish in that tank. |

| The fry look like little tadpoles with eyes now, lol.
The parents moved them out of the pot into a pit they dug out front. So now I have a really good view of them. I have pics, I will upload them when I get a chance. I went to 2 LFS today, they both said that they'd take the fry, they sell Cons. But of course they don't offer me anything in resturn although they'll be making profits. |

| lol.
The one store, B&G's, has a breeding pair someone brought in, and they've had 5 spawns. So they will take them & sell them at $2 each, or use them as feeders. The other store, Pet Stop, actually orders them & sells them - for like $6 a fish.
But B&G's breeds their own fish, and relies on local breeders - whereas Pet Stop orders massive stock from one place. |

| It's a good experience, it's fun to watch. And all I have to do is sit back & relax.
Hopefully when I begin breeding JD's, it'll be that easy... |
