I just got my 55 up and running (fully cycled) and I need to move the parents and their fry (30 days old). My main concern is that when I move them the parents will no longer recognize them as their own and eat them. Is this a possibility? Any pointers on how to move them?

when I moved mine the first time, they did eat the fry when I put them in (didnt move them all at the same time was 10 mins in between )...unless you can get them all in the bucket or container at the same time, that might be a chance you take...why move them? the fry will make it on their own if you just want to move mom and dad out.

Whew! Got Mom, Dad and 100+ fry moved to their new digs. It took me well over an hour to coral all the fry but none were eaten and mom and dad attacked me every chance they got. Ingrates lol!

Keep their water clean and feed them 3-4 times a day and mom and dad will do the rest. Mine are about a month old and are about 1/2"-3/4" long and are starting to look like convicts.
