convict pair tank decor?

So my wife said I can do a pair of convict for now since our first child is due in 4 weeks. Not sure how to decorate. I like planted tanks but heard not a good idea with cons. Some ideas or pics would help.

if you are getting a m/f pair, they will only be able to be the only fish...20 gals or more for them..if you are getting a same sex pair, 20-30 gals or more is best ..the bigger the better for same sex with other fish because cons are meanies...heres a couple pics of my tank ..they love plants, caves, and tunnels..

Okay there has got to be something in the air. LOL. I was just looking for pics of different scapes for convict tanks. Shawnie your tanks look great!!! I have mixed blue gravel and was considering some slate caves and hideouts with a couple of flowerpots for them to hide in too. They might get one plant until I see how many times they dig it up. I have a male female pair in a 29 gal...they got it all to themselves.

Sorry for the hijack. If I find any more good scape ideas besides Shawnie's I will post where it is.

Well I have two terra cotta pots in there now and a "slate mountain" with some places to swim through and it looks absolutely like . As far as the plants go I may have a few silk ones put away...I went nuts and went to all live plants...maybe I should say nuttier. I got a few pretty sturdy plants this weekend because they were really pretty but had no idea where to put them so I might try them in there. I rearranged the slate mountain about three different times and still did not like it so I figured I would give them a break until later today. I have seen some that just look great but I can't build one to save my life.

As far as pics go I have one posted on photobucket and until I get someplace with high speed internet that is all there will be...a danged hour to upload one picture pleeeaaaassseee.

All I can say is now since I am part time you better be praying for all my little fishy friends because all are getting their homes redecorated...poor things. I know they would like me to just feed them and leave them alone but I have too much time on my hands for that.

Glad it was not a hijack!!

ya know what i when i want to "build" something like the slate mountain is put all the stuff on our dining room table and build it or try to build it there, outside of the tank until i have it the way i want. that way our fishies dont get so spazed out.

Like I said there is something in the air LOL. Well I did some rearranging, added some more slate, and a few live plants. They seem happy and to me it looks better. I think I am just used to lots of plants instead of rocks and pots. I think I will give this a few days to grow on me. And DUH why did I not think of building it on the table before terrorizing the fish
