Hi everyone, i have a 65G tank and it has,

1 bristle nose pleco
1 brown sucking loach
1 pair of convict cichlids

My convicts occupy the bottom half of the tank pretty much all of the time and only go up to feed and i was wondering..

would it be possible to keep something that will live at the top of the tank with them?
like a few gouramis or something?

of course it is, unless your convict cichlid picks on your other fish

I had convicts in with a number of fish and never had any problems. In fact it seemed that the convicts were the ones that would shy away. I had rainbows, Discus, Angel fish, cardinal tetras and they all got along fine.

thanks for your help, i have just released a pair of opaline gouramis into the tank and theyve been together about 2 hours and they are fine, the gouramis are getting a bit to curious and keep touching the convicts with their "feelers" as i like to call them . they will learn soon where the convicts territory is

they were both males, so i took one back and got a female, theyve paired up, the females belly is red, so i should have eggs soon

I had two different pair as my fem killed the first male...shes so moody LOL

lol, my two seem pretty happy together, they always follow eachother around and cuddle up under the bogwood at night .

Does anyone know the proper name of what i call a gouramis 'feelers'?
