Halibut

I bought some cichlid pellets today because i have just been feeding regular tropical flake. Thing is these say they float and things Ive read indicate she'll eat them at the top of the tank but she seems to wait for the flakes to sink down lower before eating them. Did I waste money on cichlid food or will she eventually start eating the floating stuff? I do believe it's a female judging by the colors of her midsection.

Is she a new fish to you?? My convicts didnt come to the top for the first week or so...they waited for leftovers to fall out of the other fishes mouths..but now, they come right to the top with the rest of the piglets.. goodluck and keep going with her pellets...she will eat them eventually
