Hi, I had a pair of breeding convicts in a small 20 gallon tank with an oscar. it was a tight squeeze. when ever the convicts had they're fry which was about once a month, they would scare the oscar up to the corner of the tank. the fry did not live for more than 1 month. the convicts eventually start to leave them alone at about 2.5 weeks. the very small fry, that actually look like small fish now, started moving around a lot more but rarely coming up to the surface. the oscar eventually picked them all off. and then one time my convicts were not full grown and the oscar was growing A LOT faster than the convicts ate the parents. so if your convicts aren't full grown don't be surprised when the oscar has a wide belly!
