New tank

Well, thanks to the sale at Petco, I have 40 gallon breeder tank. I'm most pleased.

I am setting it up for convicts.

This is what I have:

40 gallon tank.
Marineland Penguin 200 filter
heater
Black and red gravel.

Right now the biowheel and the filter media are in my 55 gallon tank with my Oscar. LOL I'll likely still steal a bit of gravel from his tank and put it in to continue the cycle.

I'm thinking that's about all I need but hiding places, which I'm going to get today. I'm heading to Menard's for some PVC pipe for a few tanks.

Anything I'm missing? Besides fish, of course. LOL

Thanks

Re: New tank

Sounds like you did everything right.

Best of luck on getting them to get busy.

And no World War 3. So far, Momma has kept her babies safe and everybody is still alive. LOL

Re: New tank

I also have fry ... they are in the wriggle in the substrate stage..

the mom and dad are really defending them. I have two couples that laid eggs and both have fry.. the rest of the fish are cowering up by the surface of the water, only coming down at night to sleep in the craters they made in the sand.

I don't know what to do with all of these fish.

Well, as soon as they start getting big enough, they start going into the Oscar tank...my Oscar needs a treat. LOL I figure at about 3/4in or so, and that should lessen any aggression.

Well, I may have to get another Oscar. LOL I've decided to start breeding guppies. So...my 1 Oscar will get a constant supply of feeders. LOL
