I like to support my local businesses, but I'm setting up my tank again (29G, Eclipse system, fish only, community) and need a fair number of things that I can't get locally, or are considerably more expensive; as in 2x (or more) the price.
I have purchased from Dr.'s F&S in the past and had no problems, but they don't have all I'm looking for (AG's doesn't either, but the rest I can easily buy locally) and it would actually be about $40-50 more with them.
Lower overhead I guess. No public shop to visit and minimal staff, unlike DF&S.
They support a POTM contest on another site i visit, and they put the winner's photo on their website for that month. http://www.aquariumguys.com/feature-photo.html 3rd down is my nano tank. Being a sponser of that forum, i've used them more then few times. No problems in any order i've had with them. I've found prices on some of their stuff better then other larger companies.
The last order with them it seems they drop shipped something to me, via another larger company but i'm not sure, i couldn't actually tell. In any case everything was there and worked so i was happy.

Did you end up ordering from them? I was going to put a thread up to ask the same question until I found this thread but I only saw one reply and that is very odd. I was hoping to see a lot more feed back because I had a bad experience with a place and I don't what that to happen again. So please if anybody has ordered from these guys let us know it would be greatly appreciated.
I spent a couple weeks deciding what I wanted to order, with items in a cart at both AG and DFS sites, but when I went to check out many of the items jumped in price, some substantially.
I went from about a $100 order to over $160, not including shipping.
Don't have any idea why the changes; maybe they were on sale, though I didn't see anything marked that way; maybe they changed suppliers and so prices changed.
i've looked at their prices but never actually ordered anything from there so i'm not sure. i think petmountain.com had better prices so i decided to order from them instead

That's odd. If I decide to order I will be looking for that and if it does me that way I will not go through with the order either. I looked at DFS but they do not have what I want. I will let everybody know how it gos if I decide to order from them.
