You need marine salt to make the tank brackish and a salinity meter to make sure the salinity is proper. NO the other fish will not go in a brackish tank.

the columbian sharks are actually brackish fish (meaning they need marine salt, not aquarium salt) and shouldn't be kept with your other fish, but in a brackish only tank. also, they get HUGE (up to 20 inches)

The aquarium salt is different from marine salt and will not help. The other fish are intolerable to salt they are freshwater fish.

no i think that they live in brackish (not freshwater) when young and are gradually increased to marine salt as they age

There are a lot of bad articles out their on this fish. They are def brackish at young and SW at adults. You can slowly raise the salintiy of the water over time. Not keeping your other fish in the brackish water, they will not survive.

Im sorry fishlova, I know it is hard when we dont hear what we like, but yes, I have read articles of things redtail sharks being kept in less than ten gallons and goldfish in bowls, that does not mean it is the right thing to do.

first off like said before the aquarium salt wont help. This fish needs a HUGE tank and need to increase the saltwater content with age; if they are not kept in a brackish tank since the beginning, they will develop lethal skin conditions and eventually die. Also, as stated before your other fish do not go with this shark.

Im sorry again, I know it can be frustrating
