55 gallon going good

my 55gal is looking good the water is very clear...it was milkly at first because i used natural pea gravel and its hard to clean it perfectly...i had a amoina problem in my 20 gallon two of my females were laying at the bottom of the tank all the of the gupps had very redd gills i did a water change earlier and added some amonia removing chemicals...i figured they could die from amoina poisoining .. or they could from being in a not fulling cycled tank...well now they all look great..and my females are helping cycle my 55 gallon...im afraid to put them back in the 20 ...i one of hte females is gravid and its chest is starting to get fatter...she is only about a week along though...but i dont want fry in my 55 gallon thats for sure....im going to get my water tested when i get my API master test kit....im getting it at petsmart..so ill just have them test it then im picking up a api master kit for future use....as far as stocking the tank im back and forth and all over the place on what i want to do...im reaserching and taaking sugestions from forumers etc...

If your 55 gallon aquarium has standard sized filter intakes, chances are the fry will not survive anyway. If you are trying to save the young, you may want to move them back into the 20. ammonia is typically a short term problem or long term if you do not have adequate biological filtration. If this is a new problem with the 20 gallon, as a result of a recent change in filtration, etc., it may be only temporary and can be kept under control by your water changes. You will often read that ammonia should read 0. This is ideal, but sometimes, not always possible. The actual toxicity of ammonia can be calculated more accurately when comparing the results of your test kit with water temperature and pH. I will try to find this information and post it here for you.

What do you do with the fry as they age? Do you use them as fish food, give them away, etc.?
